Stephen Griffin joined the firm as a partner in 2009. His practice focuses on complex business and commercial litigation and all facets of personal injury law ranging from automobile accidents to product, premises and professional liability. Since he practices as both a member of the defense and plaintiff's bar, he possesses a rare insider's viewpoint into the handling of lawsuits.

Since 1988, Mr. Griffin has been involved in a diverse caseload of civil litigation including over 150 jury trials in Ohio and Pennsylvania, as well as civil litigation in 24 Ohio counties and in the Northern and Southern District Federal Courts. He has represented Fortune 500 companies as well as smaller businesses and corporations in cases involving contractual disputes, dissolutions, false advertising, unfair competition and trade secret violations.

In 2010 he was recognized by his peers as one of Ohio's Top Commercial/Business litigators, and has been named an Ohio Super Lawyer since 2005. Mr. Griffin is also widely recognized for his work in the field of personal injury and in particular medical malpractice. He has been selected by The Best Lawyers in America every year since 2007 as a medical malpractice attorney. In September, 2006 he received national recognition from DRI's The Voice for the successful handling of a complex medical malpractice jury trial involving a resternotomy technique causing aortic laceration.

Mr. Griffin has provided numerous lectures to hospital staff, residents and physicians around the state of Ohio on a variety of topics concerning medical liability. He has also published a number of articles in MD News, Cleveland Physician, Martindale-Hubble and The Stark County Medical Society News on such topics as tort reform, election of consent, and the value of the jury trial. He is also author of a well-known tutorial for providing deposition testimony in malpractice cases.

Mr. Griffin graduated from Grove City College, Grove City, Pennsylvania with a B.A. in business in 1982. He earned an MPA from the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public & International Affairs in 1984 and his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 1987. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar, Pennsylvania State Bar, Stark County Bar, United States District Court – Northern District and Southern District, and United States Court of Appeals 6th Circuit.

Mr. Griffin resides in Canton, Ohio, with his wife, Kim, and their four children.
